A Realistic 9-Day Safari Itinerary for Tanzania
A Realistic 9-Day Safari Itinerary for Tanzania
What you can fit into 9 days on safari in Tanzania
Nine days is the point where adding southern parks starts to make sense. On top of the Northern Circuit highlights, you can fit in Ruaha or Nyerere (formerly Selous), which feel quite different and share the landscape with far fewer vehicles than the north.
The extra length also gives breathing room. You avoid the consecutive travel days that tighter, more ambitious itineraries sometimes demand, and the schedule includes at least one full rest day. It's ideal if you want to see the Ngorongoro Crater's dramatic, enclosed landscape and also the open, sweeping plains-style viewing of parks like Ruaha, with no sense of being rushed between them.
Should you care about seeing more than one side of Tanzania's wild places, plan around nine days.
