Mount Meru Climb Paired with a Safari
Mount Meru Climb Paired with a Safari
How to blend this with a Tanzania safari
Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru are two quite different experiences. Meru is shorter and much less crowded, and it's typically done in only 3 to 4 days, compared with the week or more that Kilimanjaro usually takes. If you want a proper mountain climb but not the multi-day commitment of Africa's highest peak, Meru is a strong choice that people often overlook.
It's also very convenient to add on. The Meru trailhead is inside Arusha National Park, so the climb fits neatly before or after a safari, with no big detour to reach the mountain.
There's a practical benefit too if Kilimanjaro is on your list afterward. Plenty of climbers treat Meru as deliberate acclimatization practice, getting a taste of high-altitude trekking on a shorter, lower-stakes climb before tackling the real thing.
Our Mount Meru packages are there to browse, or contact us to combine Meru with a safari or a Kilimanjaro climb.
