Getting to Tanzania from Ireland: Flights, Visas and Trip Planning
How to plan a Tanzania safari from Ireland: flights, visa rules and logistics
Getting from Ireland to Kilimanjaro normally means changing planes in London, Amsterdam or Doha. You'll face one more connection than travelers leaving from some other European cities, though the route is well served.
For a standard safari-length stay, an Irish passport generally means applying for an e-Visa or getting a visa on arrival. Counting the connection, the total journey is long, so we usually advise at least 7 nights on safari when you're flying from Ireland. A stay that length makes the trip clearly worth it, and you won't feel that too much of the holiday disappeared into travel.
For Irish travelers, planning on that slightly longer stay from the start usually produces a happier holiday than trying to keep the trip as short as it can possibly be.
Our visa guide walks through the application process, and you can browse our safari itineraries as well.
