A Guide to the Northern Circuit Parks
A Guide to the Northern Circuit Parks
A real, practical guide from Map Adventure Safari
Five parks make up the Northern Circuit: the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire, Lake Manyara and Arusha National Park. It's the most-visited safari region in Tanzania, and with good reason: nowhere else in the country puts such different ecosystems so close together.
Most first-time Tanzania safaris are built here, and it's a strong choice because you can stack several distinct wildlife experiences, such as the crater's contained, high-density game viewing, the Serengeti's vast open plains and Tarangire's elephant herds, without long transfers eating into your safari time.
The Southern Circuit (Ruaha, Nyerere/Selous) is a quieter alternative with real appeal, though it lies off the migration route and takes more deliberate planning to reach.
