A Realistic 4-Day Safari Itinerary for Tanzania
A Realistic 4-Day Safari Itinerary for Tanzania
What you can fit into 4 days on safari in Tanzania
A Northern Circuit safari can be done properly, if modestly, in four days: usually the Ngorongoro Crater plus two full days in the Serengeti. Many people choose this length for a first safari, and it often leads into a few beach days on Zanzibar.
Here is the honest caveat. If tracking the migration is important to you, 4 days remains tight. Depending on the season, the herds may be 3 to 4 hours away from the main park entrances, and a brief itinerary seldom leaves room to chase them once they've moved. For general game viewing and a strong shot at the Big Five, though, 4 days is plenty.
Should migration timing outrank wildlife in general for you, talk through your travel dates with us directly. Adding a day or two can sometimes be what turns a good safari into one planned around where the herds are that month.
