Overview
Over four days, this itinerary pairs two of Kenya's strongest safari destinations. The Maasai Mara delivers classic big-cat and predator viewing, while Lake Nakuru National Park is known for its rhino sightings and, in season, large flocks of flamingos along the lake shore.
In a short trip you get two quite different styles of game viewing: the Mara's open plains and predator density, then Nakuru's smaller, easily covered terrain and its notable rhino population, which makes it one of the more reliable places in Kenya to see this increasingly rare species.
Take it as a focused Kenya-only safari, or add it to a broader East Africa trip.

Day by Day (4 days)
Get picked up from your Nairobi hotel or airport early in the morning and leave Nairobi, driving through the Great Rift Valley with views of the escarpment en route. You pass Narok town, a famous Masai town, on the way to Masai Mara. You arrive in time for lunch, check in at Mara Sopa Lodge and have lunch. An afternoon game drive through the park follows, looking for Lion, Cheetah, Elephant, Buffalo and other members of the Big five, plus other animals. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.
After breakfast, spend the full day in the park with a packed lunch, looking for its popular residents, from the well-known predators to their prey such as Zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Hippos and the dangerous Crocodiles. You also visit the Mara river, where you will witness the Wildebeest crossing the Mara River; the Wildebeest migration is one of the seven wonders in the world. Later, meals and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.
After breakfast, depart Masai Mara for Lake Nakuru, enjoying a game drive en route, and arrive at Lake Nakuru lodge to check inn and have lunch. The afternoon game drive crosses the Pink Lake, which gets the name from its Great masses of Flamingos, and the park is also known for its famous white Rhino and black rhino. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge.
Have an early breakfast at your Lodge, check out, and drive to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon, when you are dropped at your hotel or the Airport.
