Five Nights on the Herds' Trail: Serengeti Migration Safari

Our team collects you from Kilimanjaro International Airport and takes you by private vehicle to Arusha for dinner and the night. If time permits, you can go on a walking tour of a coffee plantation or choose to visit Arusha National park before the big adventure of your Serengeti Wildebeest Migration safari begins. Following breakfast, we drive to Serengeti National Park. Leaving the highlands behind, we drop into the heart of wild Africa, the Serengeti National, whose endless plains roll into the distance as far as the eye can see. Our destination is the Seronera area, among the richest wildlife habitats in the park. The Seronera River, a valuable water source here, draws wildlife representing most of the Serengeti’s species. We enjoy a game drive on the way to the lodge.
We get there in time for lunch and take an afternoon game drive in Serengeti national park.
Dinner and overnight are in the Seronera area, in the standard and type of accommodation you have requested.

Join the few lucky people who float in a Hot Air Balloon over the Serengeti Plains (available at supplementary cost by per-arrangement). You drift silently above the waking bush, spotting wildlife and taking in the wonderful scenery of Africa, over rivers and a number of small villages.
After breakfast, spend the full day on a game drive in the Serengeti National Park. The wildebeest migration usually moves through this area in April & May, but the Seronera area lies within reach of both the southern plains and the Western Corridor. The resident game here is outstanding, and species like elephant, buffalo, gazelle, zebra, lion and many other predators and herbivores can be seen all year round.

Following breakfast, we travel toward the western part of the Serengeti National Park, which is also called the Western Corridor. A game drive takes place on the way from the Seronera area to the Western Corridor area.
We reach the lodge in time for lunch, and after lunch we enjoy an afternoon game drive in the area. Depending on rainfall patterns, the wildebeest migration can normally be found in the Western Corridor area in June.

After breakfast, spend a full day on game drives in the Western Corridor. Its main features are the Grumeti and Mbalageti Rivers, which run nearly parallel to one another, each lined by a belt of evergreen forest. The rivers support a permanent population of game, including zebra, wildebeest, all the predators and plenty of birdlife. Large pods of hippos and huge crocodiles can also be found in the Grumeti River. By midmorning the wildebeest usually gather at waterholes in such dense numbers that they resemble ants swarming around a nest.

Following breakfast at the lodge, we head to the Grumeti airstrip, enjoying a game drive on the way, to catch a scheduled flight from Grumeti airstrip to Arusha airport. When you land at Arusha airport, our driver meets you and takes you to Arusha town for lunch and overnight, or drops you at Kilimanjaro airport for your next destination.
