Overview
Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks, the Serengeti and the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater all feature in this 7-day itinerary, which passes through some of Tanzania's most striking landscapes en route.
A stay at a tented camp inside the Serengeti itself is typically part of the plan, so you're immersed in the park and not commuting in from outside its boundaries. A full week lets you take all four parks at a proper pace, with real time in each instead of a rushed single stop.

Day by Day (7 days)
Following a morning safari briefing and a drive of about 2 hours, you arrive at Tarangire National Park. Giant baobab trees, bush savannah and seasonal marshes characterize this reserve, which is regarded as one of the best places to see elephants up close. Buffalo, zebra and wildebeest also live in the park, closely followed by predators including lion. Overnight at Lake Burunge Tented Camp.
Travel from the Tarangire area to Lake Manyara National Park, which is known for over 400 bird species, forests full of primates, and grassy plains. Lake Manyara, an alkaline lake, is a seasonal breeding ground for flamingos and waterfowl. Once you finish an extensive game drive, you spend the night at Kirurumu Manyara Lodge.
The drive runs through the cooler highlands toward the southern Serengeti, and you arrive on the plains around midday. At Tanzania's biggest park you find short grass plains, savannah, dense bush and odd kopje rock outcrops, where predators are frequently spotted. Spend the night at Kati Kati Tented Camp, located inside the park.
Explore the Seronera area of the central Serengeti all day, on morning and afternoon game drives that take in the resident wildlife and, depending on the time of year, the migration itself. You stay another night at Kati Kati Tented Camp.
Leave the Serengeti and drive on to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, viewing game as you go while open plains give way to highland forest. You spend the night on the crater rim, enjoying dramatic views into the caldera below.
A full day of wildlife viewing awaits on the crater floor, one of Africa's most concentrated wildlife areas, where a single, contained caldera offers a real chance at all of the Big Five. By evening you are back up on the rim.
Leave the crater rim and drive back to Arusha, making one last stop along the way if time allows. You are then transferred to the airport for your onward flight, or to your hotel if you are extending your stay.
