Safaris with little ones involve a few real limits, so learn them before booking. Many camps require a minimum age, often 6 or 8, because of safety concerns on open-vehicle game drives. Check each property's policy first, so there's no surprise conflict later.
Once your children meet those requirements, short daily drives and junior-ranger style activities help hold their attention between sightings. A small child can't be expected to sit through the long drives that adults enjoy, so it's wise to pace each day with that in mind.
Health advice here needs a professional, not a generalist. Malaria prophylaxis guidance for young children isn't the same as for adults, so speak with a travel health specialist before you book and don't presume the adult rules apply.
