Overview
Couples who want both halves of a classic Tanzania honeymoon will find them in this 11-day itinerary: a proper Northern Circuit safari, then real time to unwind on Zanzibar's beaches, with neither part squeezed to make room for the other.
The safari portion covers the Northern Circuit's highlights with private game drives paced for two instead of a full group, and then you fly on to Zanzibar. Out there, the tempo changes completely: white sand, warm water and nothing on the schedule except what you decide to do each day.
The pairing works because the two halves contrast so sharply. You get the excitement and early starts of safari, then total decompression on the beach, and neither has to do the other's job. Guests consistently tell us it's one of the best ways to spend a honeymoon, and once you've seen how naturally the bush gives way to the beach, it's easy to understand why.

Day by Day (11 days)
After landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you are taken to Arusha for the night and given a full briefing about the days ahead.
You travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and see game on the way. The night is spent on the crater rim, overlooking the caldera below.
The drive to the Serengeti includes game viewing en route, as the landscape widens into the park's famous endless plains. A game drive follows on arrival in the afternoon.
Game drives take up the whole day across the Serengeti, viewing the resident wildlife and, depending on the season, the wildebeest migration.
In the morning, transfer to the airstrip for a flight to Zanzibar via Arusha. You are then taken to your beach accommodation, and the remainder of the day is free to unwind.
Spend the day on the island -- swimming, snorkeling, or simply lazing on the beach after the safari section of the trip.
Zanzibar offers another free day, and optional activities such as a spice tour or sunset dhow cruise can be arranged on request.
Stay on the island at your own speed -- see Stone Town, go diving, or just enjoy the beach.
Another free day to unwind, as the honeymoon part of the trip continues.
One last full day in Zanzibar before you get ready to depart the next day.
You are taken to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport for the flight home.
