Overview
Both sides of the Great Migration's ecosystem, Kenya's Maasai Mara and Tanzania's Serengeti, are part of this 13-day itinerary. You don't commit to a single country and hope the herds happen to be nearby.
The Mara and the Serengeti form one continuous ecosystem divided by an international border, so this trip gives a more complete picture of the migration than either country alone. Game viewing is strong year-round across both parks, but the migration's current position meaningfully affects which side offers better sightings on your specific travel dates.
Moving between the two countries typically involves separate visas and a border crossing. We build those into the pacing of the itinerary instead of treating them as an afterthought.
Our guide to combining Kenya and Tanzania explains the logistics, and you can contact us to plan around the migration's current position.
