Overview
The Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater, two of Tanzania's best-known wildlife destinations, are paired on this itinerary. The Serengeti hosts the Great Migration along with healthy populations of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle, and the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO-protected natural wonder, ranks among Africa's most concentrated wildlife-viewing areas.
Big Five sightings are possible in both places. Combining them gives you a full picture of Tanzania's wildlife range, from the Serengeti's wide open plains to the dramatic, contained caldera of the crater.

0930 Hrs. Once breakfast is over, fly from Arusha to Serengeti National Park. 1300 Hrs. Stop at a site for a picnic lunch. 1400 Hrs. Game drive in Serengeti National Park, leaving your lodge at 0830 Hrs after breakfast. Picnic lunch at the Picnic Site at 1300 Hrs. Second game drive of the day at 1400 Hrs. in the Serengeti, then return in the evening for dinner and the night. 0630 Hrs. Early morning game drives in the Park 0930 Hrs. Back to the lodge for breakfast and some leisure time. 1200 Hrs. Lunch is served at your Lodge. 1300 Hrs. Drive on to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You can choose whether to stop at Olduvai Gorge, a historical site where early man lived, and you can also visit a Maasai boma if you would like to see real African traditional life and culture. 0730 Hrs. After breakfast, drive down onto the crater floor, carrying a lunch box, for game viewing. The famous Ngorongoro Crater is full of wildlife, and each species keeps to its own territory. 1300 Hrs. Stop at the picnic site for a picnic lunch served on the crater floor near Lerai forest or the hippo pool. 1400 Hrs. Climb out of the crater and drive to Arusha. The remainder of the day is for you to arrange as you wish, or you can transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight home (your flight should be late evening). Meals: Breakfast | Lunch
