Overview
With five days on Zanzibar, nothing needs to be rushed. There is time to venture beyond your own resort for a spice tour or a visit to Stone Town, or to spend slow days on the sand.
A tip we often pass along for a stay this long is to use two bases. Plenty of travelers book a very exclusive property for the opening days, a favorite choice for honeymoons, and shift to a second place at a more moderate price for what remains. This way you get a taste of luxury while avoiding top rates every night of the trip.
If you would rather stay in one place the whole time, that works too. Either way, five days is long enough to mix activity with relaxation and not have to pick one.

Day by Day (5 days)
Arrive at Zanzibar airport or harbor and transfer to your Stone Town hotel, with check-in at 2:30 pm. Then take a tour to Prison Island, home to giant tortoises. Fringed by a lovely century-old reef beach, the island is ideal for swimming, snorkelling and relaxing on the sand. Come back to Stone Town at 5:30 pm for dinner and overnight.
At 8:30 the south coast dolphin tour sets off for a day trip to Kizimkazi, where you may swim with hundreds of spinner & bottle-nose dolphins playing off Kizimkazi beach, a special natural message in the Indian ocean. At 2:30 pm we drive to the jozani forest tour to see red Colobus Monkeys, the natural forest, the mangrove forest and the living spices of fish underneath. Visit Zala Park to learn how local people have become creative in protecting the natural living reptiles, then return to town for dinner and the night,

Leisure day at the beach:
Spend the whole day relaxing on the beach at the hotel, with dinner and overnight.
You are picked up from the hotel and transferred to the harbour/airport for departure.
