Overview
Honeymooners get exactly what they usually want from Tanzania on this 8-day itinerary: a proper Northern Circuit safari with private game drives, then real time to unwind on Zanzibar's beaches to wrap up the celebration.
Safari days take in the Northern Circuit's highlights (Tarangire, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti) at a pace set for two, not a full group, and romantic touches such as a private bush breakfast or sundowner are available on request. After that, you fly to Zanzibar for the rest of the trip, swapping early-morning game drives for white sand and warm water.
This combination has been well tested for honeymoons in particular: plenty of excitement in the safari half, plenty of relaxation in the beach half, and neither side hurried to make room for the other.

Day by Day (7 days)
You land at JRO and, after customs and immigration formalities, our representative meets you and takes you to Arusha. You spend the night on a Bed & Breakfast basis at Planet Lodge Arusha, ahead of the start of your African adventure.
Following breakfast, you set off for Tarangire National Park and arrive in time for lunch, with an afternoon of game viewing ahead. The park is known for its many baobab trees and its tree-climbing lions, and you can find lesser kudu, eland, lion and gerenuk here. Dinner and the night at the lodge or tented camp
Following breakfast, you drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon you go 2000 feet (over 600 meters) down to the crater floor for a day crater tour that includes picnic lunches.
You can explore the forest areas where monkeys and elephants live, the lake area, where flamingos may be seen, and the open savannah, where lions hunt for food. Overnight and dinner are at the lodge in Ngorongoro.
You drive to Serengeti National Park by way of Olduvai Gorge, where Louis and Mary Leakey made their celebrated archaeological discoveries. Among their finds are some of the earliest known remains of human ancestors. Lunch is at the lodge in the Serengeti. In the afternoon there is a game drive across the endless Serengeti plains, where you may see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles, or a pride of lions resting in the shade. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Two whole days are given to game viewing in the Serengeti. Meals and overnight stays are at the lodge in Serengeti National Park. You can also choose to book a hot air balloon safari, which lifts off around sunrise and carries you on a magical floating flight above the vast Serengeti plains.
The day opens with an early morning game drive before breakfast, then you go back to the lodge for a late breakfast. After a mid-morning break, you leave for the Ngorongoro Highlands, with lunch at Gibbs Farm or similar. In the afternoon you visit the waterfalls. Overnight and dinner are at the lodge in Manyara
Breakfast is followed by a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, where hippos, monkeys, tree-climbing lions, flamingos and many other kinds of birds live. Lunch is at Lake Manyara Hotel Lodge. Afterward you drive back to Arusha and continue to JRO for your evening departure flight, which brings your safari in Africa to an end.
