Overview
Photography comes first across Tanzania's core Northern Circuit of Lake Manyara, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti, from the vehicle you ride in to scheduling each day's drives around the best available light.
Each park offers a different subject: Manyara's tree-climbing lions and birdlife, the dense, contained wildlife inside Ngorongoro's crater, and the Serengeti's open plains and big-cat action. Guides know how to position for shots, not only find sightings, and photographic vehicles are used where available.
You can adjust the length and pace depending on how long you want at each location.

Day by Day (12 days)
When you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our representative gives you a warm welcome and takes you to your accommodation in Arusha for dinner and the night.
After breakfast, taking a picnic lunch with you, you visit Arusha National Park for game viewing and your first taste of African wildlife photography. Arusha National Park ranks among the best parks in Tanzania, with unmatched scenery from every angle and plenty of chances for game viewing and hiking through the African wilderness. Here you have a good chance of seeing Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Meru together, besides the breathtaking Momela Lakes and Ngurdoto Crater. The aerial acrobatics of the rare Black and White Colobus Monkeys are sure to leave you amazed! Dinner and an overnight stay in Arusha.
Drive to Tarangire National Park for lunch, then spend the afternoon viewing wildlife in the park. Tarangire is the third-largest national park in Tanzania, known for having the biggest elephant herds in Africa and for the gigantic Baobab Trees, some of the oldest trees remaining in the world, each with amazing stories to tell. A wide diversity of wildlife is drawn to the Tarangire River, so you can watch animals play and lounge around. Dinner and overnight stay in Tarangire.
Spend the full day on a game drive in Tarangire National Park, a wilderness experience in its own right. Tarangire is far more wooded than Serengeti, with Acacia trees and mixed woodland scattered across the park’s African savannah. Herds of as many as 300 elephants dig in the dry riverbed for underground streams, while migratory Wildebeests, Zebras, Buffalos, Impalas, Gazelles, Hartebeests, and Elands gather around the shrinking lagoons. It is also the one spot in Tanzania where dry–country antelopes like the stately Fringe–eared Oryx and the peculiar spiral–horned Lesser Kudus are easy to find. Dinner and an overnight stay in Tarangire.
Following breakfast, you drive toward the foothills of the Ngorongoro Crater Highlands and visit Lake Manyara National Park on the way. Lake Manyara NP is a lovely scenic park and gives you yet another distinct side of a Tanzania Safari! It is famous for its elephants and a huge number of baboons, and its varied landscape supports an impressive range of other game, including wildebeest, buffalo, hippo, flamingo, zebra, warthog, waterbuck, dik-dik and impala. Bird – Watching is very good here, especially for raptors. En route you stop to explore the local village of Mto wa Mbu, where you can experience real African life, visit the local market and enjoy the exceptional hospitality of the people. After a local lunch hosted in a home, you drive up across the Great East African Rift Valley to your other beautiful place to stay, on the foothills of Ngorongoro at Karatu.
Start with an unhurried breakfast, then you can meet the Iraqw people who live in this area. They are an ancient Cushitic people who migrated from the “Horn of Africa” almost 1’000 years ago and who farm here. Later in the day you drive up to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for lunch, and then spend the afternoon looking for game in the famous Ngorongoro Crater. Afterward, you climb the spectacular walls of the caldera to your accommodation on the crater rim.
Get up early with the sun and descend into the famous Ngorongoro Crater for game viewing. The crater is a one-of-a-kind safari destination, a veritable “Garden of Eden”. Animals are concentrated here and the grass is short, so game viewing in the crater, or more correctly a caldera, is excellent, with animals everywhere! The caldera is said to hold the highest density of carnivores in the world, and it is the only place in East Africa where the last remaining populations of Black Rhinos can be easily seen in their natural world. Dinner and the night in Ngorongoro.
Today's drive takes you to Serengeti National Park for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Serengeti is Tanzania’s best-known national park and holds the largest concentrations of big mammals anywhere on the planet. Its name comes from the Maasai word ‘Siringet,’ meaning ‘endless plains,’ and the rolling stretches of short grass make an exceptional setting for African wildlife photography. This is the ultimate safari country and the highlight of your trip: you are deep in the wilderness of Africa, with wildlife all around you, for your very own ‘Out of Africa’ experience! You have dinner and spend the night in Serengeti.
On the next day you have game drives at your own pace and follow wildlife in the Mighty Serengeti. Serengeti National Park never disappoints! Your accommodation is placed to give you the best possible African wildlife photography. Dinner and overnight stay in the Serengeti.
Take a picnic lunch on game drives in the Serengeti to view and photograph the great migration of animals. You will be amazed by the endless Serengeti plains, dotted with thousands upon thousands of game animals across the grassland and the pockets of woodland! Behind them follow the predators, Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, Hyenas and Jackals, while vultures circle overhead to clean up. This migration is what many people picture when they think of “Wild Africa”. The timing is ideal for enjoying the magic of the real African wilderness and a beautiful African Sunset on the horizon! Dinner and the night in the Serengeti.
You head out on game drives in the morning and afternoon, discovering more of the last great migration of mammals on earth. At this time the area is also rich in large carnivores, as the predators celebrate the arrival of migrating prey on their territory. Part of the day is spent searching for the Big Cats. A cheetah chasing a gazelle, lions making a kill, and the Great Migration itself, with its many thousands of wildebeest and zebra, are among the memorable sightings you could have on safari in Africa. Serengeti National Park offers all of this on your African Photo Safari. Dinner and overnight are in the Serengeti.
Today brings another wonderful experience: you board the plane and fly low over the remote wilderness and scenic volcanic mountains, returning to Arusha for lunch and a day room. In the late afternoon, you are transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport to connect with your international flight
